چکیده

Abstract Particulate black carbon (BC) affects global warming by absorbing the solar radiation, affecting cloud formation, and decreasing ground albedo when deposited to snow or ice. BC has also a wide variety of adverse effects on human population health. In this article we reviewed emission factors (EFs) major anthropogenic sources, i.e. traffic (incl. marine aviation), residential combustion, energy production. We included EFs measured directly from individual sources derived ambient measurements. Each source category was divided into sub-categories find demonstrate systematical trends, such as potential influence fuel, combustion technologies, exhaust/flue gas cleaning systems EFs. Our review highlights importance society level regulation in mitigation; clear reduction observed studies for road well direct measurements diesel-powered vehicles. However, emissions gasoline vehicles were be higher with fuel injection techniques (gasoline injection) than port-fueled injection, indicating potentially negative trend vehicle fleet case shipping, relatively correlation seen between engine size so that specific largest engines lowest. Regarding large variation EFs, type quality appliances significantly The data gaps large-scale production which can crucial estimating radiative forcing emissions. addition, much more research is needed improve coverage Furthermore, use existing complicated different EF calculation methods, units used reporting results due experimental setups measurement methods. general, conducted accuracy future inventories evaluations climate, air quality, health impacts

Anthropogenic Black Carbon Emission Increase during the Last 150 Years at Coastal Jiangsu, China

Black carbon (BC) is one of the major drivers of climate change and a useful indicator of environmental pollution from industrialization, and thus it is essential to reconstruct the historical trend in BC flux to better understand its impact. The Yancheng coastal wetland reserve in Jiangsu province is an area sensitive to global sea level change and is also located in the most developed as well...

Sorption of phthalate acid esters on black carbon from different sources.

Black carbon (BC) is known as a strong sorbent for the sorption of planar hydrophobic organic compounds (HOCs), but there is very little information about the sorption of nonplanar HOCs on BC. In this study, the sorption of di-(2-ethyl-hexyl) phthalate (DEHP), one kind of nonplanar phthalate acid ester (PAE), by environmental BC collected from river sediments and pure BC (char-wood, char-stalk ...

Study the effect of environmental factors and different carbon sources on dibenzothiophene desulfurization by Exophiala spinifera

It is necessary to reduce the amount of sulfur in fossil fuels due to direct impact of the quality of these fuels on the environment. In this research, a novel fungus strain of Exophiala spinifera, namely FM, was used to desulfurize dibenzothiophene (DBT) as a model cyclic sulfur compounds in oil and fossil fuels. HPLC analysis indicated that the fungus was capable of reducing 99% of DBT concen...

Measurement of black carbon and particle number emission factors from individual heavy-duty trucks.

Emission factors for black carbon (BC) and particle number (PN) were measured from 226 individual heavy-duty (HD) diesel trucks driving through a 1-km-long California highway tunnel in August 2006. Emission factors were based on concurrent increases in BC, PN, and CO2 concentrations (measured at 1 Hz) that corresponded to the passage of individual HD trucks. The distributions of BC and PN emiss...
